Women's Labor Gave Life to the Soil: First Harvest at Çelebibağı Women's Urban Garden

The efforts of women were rewarded at the Çelebibağı Neighborhood Women's Urban Garden, initiated by Erciş Municipality to support women's active role in agricultural production. The 4,000 seedlings planted together with women at the opening have turned into a bountiful harvest today.

During the harvest carried out with our Co-Mayor Güler Temel and women in need; tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, cucumbers, melons, and watermelons were collected, bringing hope and abundance to the tables.

The Women's Urban Garden has become an important step not only as a production area but also in the path of women's solidarity, production, and economic empowerment. Women who worked the soil with their own hands contributed to their own livelihoods and experienced the pride of having a say in production.

Our Co-Mayor Güler Temel stated in her remarks here;
"As women give labor to the soil, a strong transformation begins both in their own lives and in society. This garden is one of the most concrete examples of women's production power," she said.

Erciş Municipality will continue to support projects that will increase women's power in production and make women's labor visible.
