Traditional Plateau Festival by Van Residents in Istanbul: Message of Social Peace and Solidarity

The 2nd Traditional Van Residents Plateau Festival, organized to strengthen the cultural ties of Van residents living in Istanbul, was completed with high participation and colorful events.

The festival, held at Sultanbeyli Fatih Korusu under the leadership of the Istanbul Anatolian Van Associations Federation, was attended by Erciş Municipality Co-Mayor Güler Temel, DEM Party Provincial Co-Mayor Gülşen Kurt, Van Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Neslihan Şedal, Çaldıran Municipality Co-Mayor Hatice Atabay, Özalp Municipality Co-Mayor Ecevit Ceylancı, and Muradiye Municipality Co-Mayor Barış Yılmaz.

Organized under the leadership of Van Associations Federation President Bayram Çiftçioğlu and with the contributions of many associations, the festival took place with the intense interest of Van residents, as well as representatives from various civil society organizations and political parties.

Enriched with Van Cuisine, Music, and Folk Dances

The festival began with the presentation of traditional flavors from Van cuisine, folk dance performances, and music concerts.

In her speech, Erciş Municipality Co-Mayor Güler Temel thanked Van Associations Federation President Bayram Çiftçioğlu and the management, emphasizing that the festival was a meaningful gathering for Van residents living in Istanbul. Temel stated that such events contribute to the preservation of Van residents' cultural identity, enhance social solidarity, and serve as a bridge between Istanbul and Van. Temel also highlighted that these gatherings strengthen social peace and drew attention to the importance of the spirit of solidarity.
