Strict Inspections of Bakeries Before Ramadan by Erciş Municipality
The Erciş Municipality Zoning Directorate and the Erciş District Agriculture and Forestry Directorate teams conducted comprehensive inspections of bakeries and businesses producing baked goods across the province to ensure that citizens can access healthy and safe food before the month of Ramadan.
As part of the inspections, the hygiene conditions of production areas, the health checks of personnel, and the use of caps and aprons were meticulously examined. While measuring the compliance of bread and pita with official weight standards, necessary controls were conducted for products with insufficient weight.
Additionally, while monitoring the price lists applied at sales points, the expiration dates and storage conditions of raw materials such as flour, oil, and sugar used in production were checked. The currency and tax plates of the businesses were also reviewed for their currency.
As a result of the inspections, it was determined that the physical conditions of one business were inadequate and that the equipment was not used in accordance with hygiene rules. An administrative fine was imposed on the business in question under the relevant legislation.
The co-chairs of Erciş Municipality stated that inspections will continue uninterrupted throughout the month of Ramadan, expressing that efforts will be steadfastly maintained to protect public health and ensure consumer rights.
