Earthquake Awareness Drill Conducted in Erciş

An earthquake drill was organized at a school by the Disaster Affairs Directorate of Erciş Municipality to raise disaster awareness and teach students the correct behaviors during an earthquake. The drill was conducted with the participation of the co-mayors.

In a realistic scenario, the life-saving "drop, cover, hold on" movement was demonstrated to students practically during the drill. Following this, the school's evacuation process was simulated to ensure that students reached the assembly area safely.

During the drill, the teams from the Disaster Affairs Directorate emphasized the importance of not panicking during an earthquake and taking the correct actions. While providing information on basic disaster awareness, the equipment used in search and rescue operations was also introduced.

The co-mayors participating in the program emphasized the importance of raising aware individuals against disasters and stated that such training and drills will continue.

The school administration and teachers thanked the teams from the Disaster Affairs Directorate of Erciş Municipality for their contribution to raising students' awareness of disasters through the drill.
