ERCIŞ MUNICIPALITY POLICE TEAMS DO NOT ALLOW SIDEWALK OCCUPATION

Erciş Municipality Police Department teams conducted inspections on tradespeople placing stalls and products on sidewalks. The Police Department teams, which carry out many activities to ensure peace and security in the city, conduct inspections at every point of rights violations. Recently, based on complaints received, the Police Department teams warned tradespeople occupying the sidewalks and took necessary legal actions. In areas of the city center where there is heavy traffic and pedestrian density, the stalls and products placed by tradespeople on the sidewalks made it difficult for pedestrians to use the sidewalk. With the occupation of the sidewalks, pedestrians were forced to use the roads, which brought along the risk of accidents in traffic. The tradespeople who heeded the warnings of the Police teams regarding sidewalk occupation withdrew the products, stalls, and signs they had placed on the sidewalks. Those who did not comply faced penalties. The inspections by the Police Department teams will continue.
